Christmas is just around the corner and with it comes the annual shopping rush. The stores are overcrowded, the queues at the tills seem endless and the bags are getting heavier and heavier. Xmas shopping demands a lot from you, not just mentally but also physically! But don’t worry, we can help: with our top three exercises, you can master the Christmas shopping madness like a relaxed walk in the park:

3) Forearm curls:

This exercise will help you carry all your shopping bags without your hands hurting. Forearm curls strengthen your grip and forearm muscles. They are perfect to prepare you for carrying heavy bags. Take a few dumbbells and sit on the edge of a weight bench. Bend your back slightly forward and rest your forearm on your thigh. Now pull your wrist upwards and then lower it again in a controlled manner until it points towards the floor. Choose the weight so that you can do 8 to 12 repetitions 3 times with clean execution and increase over time. This will make even the heaviest purchases easy for you.

2) Farmer’s Walk:

The Farmer’s Walk is the ideal exercise to prepare you for walking around with a lot of weight. Grab two heavy dumbbells, hold them firmly with your arms outstretched and walk upright across the room. This exercise not only strengthens your arms and shoulders, but also your back and legs. Thanks to the Farmer’s Walk, you will be able to stroll through the stores for hours with bulging shopping bags without getting tired. Make sure your back is straight and your body is stable. If this is not possible during the exercise and you slump, you should use slightly lighter weights. Start with 3 times 10 seconds and increase from there.

1) Stairmaster:

The Stairmaster is the perfect exercise to improve your fitness and prepare you for the constant ups and downs on the challenging (rolling) stairs. Regular training on the Stairmaster strengthens your leg muscles and improves your endurance – perfect for avoiding crowded shopping center lifts in the future. Make sure that you don’t get on the Stairmaster for 45 minutes or more every day right from the start, but also give your body the opportunity to regenerate. Start with 15 to 20 minutes per workout 2 to 3 times a week and gradually increase.

With these three exercises, you’ll be ready for some lovely presents 😉. So grab your dumbbells and get ready for stress-free Christmas shopping. Happy shopping and a relaxed Christmas season! 🎄💪
