FitFact: The top three tips on how to show off your beach body at the pool

Summer is here, and how! Time to unpack your beach body at the numerous outdoor pools in Switzerland where you can let your trained body shine and where you can admire the sun. We’ll tell you the best way to do that:

1) No bloating foods

Before your visit, you should avoid bloating foods to show off that six-pack in the first place. So hands off high-fat meat or cheese, onions, legumes or sauerkraut, for example.

2) Give us a smile!

Smile. Yes, read that right – smile. Looking arrogant or aloof while posing won’t get you admirers. So don’t just show your face down, show your best side with a beautiful smile.

3) Posing needs to be practiced

If you seriously want to pose in the pool, you should first practice at home in front of the mirror (don’t forget to smile!). Muscle fanatics can also take a detour to ballet class to learn how to best present muscles and body. This is how Arnold Schwarzenegger did it before he was elected Mister Olympia.

After the “how”, we’ll give you a few tips on where to properly showcase your hard-won beach bod:

The “Ufschötti” in Lucerne with its 200 meter wide sandy beach, the huge open space with a buvette and free public barbecue is perfect for show running, especially if you want to flex your muscles again at frisbee, hackysack or Co.

You can climb out of the water epically like Aquaman at the Oberer Letten open-air swimming pool in Zurich or at the Aare-Böötle along the Aare, which is especially worthwhile in Solothurn when the bar mile becomes your stage when you get out.

At peak times, Bern’s “Marzili” gathers up to 13,000 guests (or spectators) on its cozy 10,000-square-meter lawn, located directly on the river.

Only the Piscine Bellerive in Lausanne tops that: the outdoor pool covers 75,000 square meters. The 10-meter diving tower guarantees that you will get the attention of the other guests.

After so much self-centeredness, we’re putting the focus on working out in pairs in the next FitFact. After all, shared fitness joy is doubled joy!
